After finishing runner-up in the 2008 American Le Mans Series championship, Patron Highcroft Racing returned to competition in 2009 seeking to resolve unfinished business. The program carried forward both primary sponsor Patron Spirits and factory backing from Acura / HPD; however, the race platform was entirely new. In a no-holds-barred effort to capture the championship, Acura / HPD debuted it’s first LMP1 class challenger – designed and built from the ground up using cutting edge computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technology pioneered by Wirth Research. A fascinating project to work on due to all involved, but a challenge in that many program assets were needed well before the car ever existed. The livery program’s overall look and feel was derivative of Patron Highcroft’s lauded 2008 program, but all assets were new. So was the championship, which the team took home after some late season heroics. // PROJECT ROLE : Account Management, Project Management, Procurement / Vendor Management, Digital Post Production
